Truth be known, individuals are indeed getting paid to play new video game titles each day. Yet, the phrase "play" typically loses some of it's meaning with this particular sort of opportunity.

Any time you play a game, you would explore & "beat" a level and proceed onto the next. When you test a videogame, you'll explore & conquer an area after which you'll RESTART that area and play it again. You won't do this 1 time, 2 times, or 3 times. You do this repeatedly until you have located all of the glitches & bugs inside of that area. This might mean playing a particular area of a game a dozen times, if not more, to make certain you have located all of the game's possible problems. Does this seem like a "enjoyable job" to you? Probably NOT!
Don't get the wrong impression here. Video game testers will have a little fun doing game testing assignments -- it's just that the fun is not as much as some folks think it is. Rather than drinking coke, eating snacks, and spending time with buddies playing amazing games, testers are really doing their best to make games more fun for others.
